Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the dress code for the courses?

We recommend that our students wear smart casual attire, which is comfortable to sit and walk in.

2. How long before the starting time should I arrive?

Please be ready to start your Zoom or Skype session around 10 minutes before the allocated time. If you are attending a course at one of our London venues, we recommend arriving around 5-10 minutes before the class starting time.

3. Do I need to take notes during the training session?

We always encourage you to take notes and we ask that you have a pen and paper ready at the start of the session. 

4. Can I take pictures during the training session?

We do not allow students to take photographs or film videos of the training sessions. Occasionally, The British School of Etiquette will take photos/videos for promotional use. Please inform the trainer if you do not wish to be featured in these.

5. Do I need to bring anything?

Please print out the course material, which will be emailed to you a few days before your course.

6. Do you run courses in other languages?
All our courses are run in English but we can provide a translator at extra cost if given adequate prior notice.
7. Do I need any qualifications to attend your courses?
Our courses are open to adults and children from all cultures and backgrounds. You do not need any previous experience or educational qualifications to register as a student at The British School of Etiquette.
8. Are the courses suitable for children?

We believe that manners and etiquette should be an integral part of a child’s education. The British School of Etiquette runs courses targeted at children and young people from age six upwards. 

9. Where are the courses held?

Most of our training courses take place online via Zoom. We may also be able to organise private face-to-face courses at  our training venue in Mayfair. 

10. Is there wheelchair access at the venue?

Special facilities including wheelchair adapted bathrooms, ramps and lifts are provided at our Mayfair venue. Guides dogs are accepted. Please check with us prior to booking if you have any special requirements. We will do our best to accommodate your wishes.

11. What happens if I am unable to attend a course after booking and paying?

Postponement of any course that has already been booked and paid for will only be considered on a case-by-case basis. For our cancellation policy and full terms and conditions please click here.

12. DO YOU RUN ONLINE COURSES?

The majority of our courses are delivered online via Zoom. 

13. can i use the bse logo and name on my website?

Please note that any unauthorized use or publishing of the BSE logo or materials (e.g., booklets, PPT slides, photos, digital files, etc.) on any website, blog, social media post, printed material, and electronic files intended to be distributed or published on the internet in any way is prohibited by law. If you have used the BSE logo on your website or internet posts without our written authorization, please remove them immediately. 

You are allowed to use photo images of yourself holding the BSE certificate or partial image of the BSE certificate if that partial image clearly shows that it is a part of a certificate. This means that any cropping of the BSE logo from your certificate and publishing of that cropped image is prohibited.

14. Are the courses accredited?

Yes most of the courses are accredited by CPD and ILM please see the accreditation page (link) and the course descriptions will tell you too.

15. Do I receive a certificate?

Yes, you will receive a certificate from The British School of Etiquette. Some of our courses are accredited by ILM and students have the option to purchase an ILM certificate.
